I’ve been on the competitive Pokémon scene, and I STILL don’t get why people say things like this. They’re playing how they like to, they’re not sucking the fun out of it, because it’s fun for them. And fun for me, too. They are not shoving their way of play down your throat, so I don’t see the fucking problem. Maybe you should try making FRIENDS with someone on the competitive scene and see what its like and why they play that way, or just use some common sense.

For me, personally, it gives the game massive replay value. I wouldn’t go as far as some of Smogon’s wi-fi community in breeding for IVs [hahaha fuck that shit] but EV training is easy and fun, a nice way to kill time, and nets you great Pokémon for use in not only online battles but the Battle Frontier as well! And besides, EV training in and of itself is not “competitive battling”. It’s just maximizing your utilities.
